Born in Wellington a small army town on Nilgiri hills. Did his schooling from Patna St. Xaviers and had his medical training from Bankura, Kolkata and Ranchi. Now a reputed child specialist practicing in Dumdum, Baguiati area for last 29 years. Since 1994 sponsoring a Child Welfare Clinic near Sunderbans where needy children are treated and family planning actively promoted amongst rural mothers.

​MISC ACTIVITY : Have written a best selling child care book in Bengali "Shishur Shathik Jatno" as well as in English 'The right care for your child' popular among patients. Sponsors a child welfare clinic in Sunderbans about 70 km from Kolkata, every Wednesday since 1994 where poor children are treated , extremely malnourished children are given food supplement and mothers are advised on family planning.
